Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico on the 8th of June, 2018, at 7:45pm

A story by Kacey A at Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico on the 8th of June, 2018, at 7:45pm

Ramón (my fiancé) and I met in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on June 8th, 2018 at 7:45pm.

I had just moved to Puerto Vallarta to complete a TEFL certification. 6 days after arriving, I was walking on the beach with some friends. One of my friends and one of Ramón's friends started talking. Ramón and I were standing there, awkwardly waiting for our friends to finish their conversation, and started talking. It was difficult because he barely spoke English and my Spanish was terrible! BUT we made it work! 3 hours and a Puerto Vallarta sunset later, Ramón asked for my phone number and I went home. That night I told a friend, "I am going to marry him."

Ramón was just visiting Puerto Vallarta for the weekend for a doctor conference. He lived in León (central Mexico) and went back at the end of the weekend. We tried to get together again, but I was busy zip lining and riding quads through the jungle! We kept in touch via WhatsApp, texting and video chatting every day.

A month later, I was doing some traveling around Mexico with my good friend. Her parents had moved from Seattle to San Miguel, Mexico and we were planning to go spend some time with them before heading off to visit some other places. Coincidentally, the closest airport to San Miguel is León. Ramón convinced me to come visit for a weekend, as it was "on the way." Clever, eh?

We spent the weekend together exploring León and the surrounding cities! It was absolutely magical, but sadly, our fun vacation was cut short because I got sick with the flu. Luckily, he is a doctor and spent the remaining time we had together nursing me back to health.

I continued with my travels and visited a few more cities in Mexico. At the end of my travels (about 2 weeks later), Ramón invited me back to León for a few days before I headed to Mexico City, where a job and apartment were waiting for me.

However, I never made it to Mexico City....

I never realise how absolutely crazy our story is until someone asks me how Ramón and I met. I guess sometimes the universe has a way of working out...and for us to meet, a country, language and culture apart, all the stars in the sky had to align perfectly.

We are now engaged and eloping here in Mexico VERY soon!

When we thought there was no more hope and happiness, we found each other...

Each one with your own tragedy: she very sad with her mom with a terminal disease and me, weak after the end of a long relationship. Fortunately she found me on facebook, gave me attention and made me smile.

She told me about her mom and I decided to show them the sky with a telescope, just trying to make a little difference in their lives.

So I proposed and it happened in November 2017. On that night I fell in love as soon I saw her! But only on July 11th 2018 we started our special relationship.

I remember that night: I made a surprise appearance with roses, chocolates and funny words about dating. Then I asked her to be my girlfriend. She told me to wait for the answer while she had a shower.

Needless to say, I was nervous as never before (even being a guy with experience).

While I waited I saw the sky with the wonderful milky way and I thought: 'Wow! The stars' path brought me to her' and I decided to show her after one year.

That's the time now!

This map represents for me the perfect gift. That night I met the love of my life by accident during a holiday in Italy.

We stayed together for two weeks and every night we used to look at the stars above us. Since that day we have never separated, even if I’ve moved to Milan and he lives in Naples.

I’m eighteen and he’s twenty-six but we strongly believe in our love. He always reminds me the beautiful gift I gave him, here’s a pic of us, almost one year after our first meeting.

Thank you guys, from both our hearts

My best friend and I had met on Instagram in the summer of 2012...

We began to talk everyday and as we grew closer, we just knew we had to meet one day. Her only being in Syracuse, NY and I in Toronto, CA; there wasn’t much more than a few hours driving distance between us.

So on June 27th, 2014, she and her mom set out to Toronto to meet me, just 2 days before her birthday. I had never been so excited and scared at the same time, before.

When I finally received that message that she was in her hotel room and in a matter of hours, we’d be meeting for dinner. The nerves and excitement were racking up as we continued to text nonstop about how long we’d be waiting for this moment to arrive. At 6:52pm that evening is when it finally did. It is the exact moment our first picture of us hugging had been taken (thanks to our moms).

Meeting my best friend in real life for the first time felt like a movie scene, I just could not believe she was real and this moment was happening.

Flashing forward almost 5 years, we’ve seen each other countless times and even have a matching tattoo together. We’ve created so many memories and having this star map will show just how much that day meant to both of us.

I got married on the 21st of April 2018.

I wanted to have a memory of that day, as it was one of the happiest days of my life. I gave it to my husband as a gift on our first anniversary and now is hanging in our dining room.

A story by Maritza L at Harlingen, TX, USA on the 17th of December, 2016, at 9:00pm

December 17th 2016 was the night my best friend asked me to be his girlfriend.

We both lived in Harlingen Tx at the time. Now my boyfriend is stationed in California and is a US Navy Sailor, while I’m still here in Harlingen finishing school.

So I got him this star chat for an anniversary gift and titled it “I love you always, forever no matter the distance”, to show no matter how hard it gets, it’ll all be worth it.

He has it hanging in his room and he’s in love with it.

My best friend and I were out dancing at a country bar, a regular girls night out...

Just as we were thinking about leaving, a boy asked me to dance. He didn't look like he belonged, wearing a loose t-shirt and gym shorts. I initially said no. He asked again and this time I thought "why not".

We got to talking (and dancing) and it turns out he had just returned from deployment that day (he was a marine), this was his first time out in over a year! He wasn't prepared or even in the mood, but he went out with his friends anyway. We danced one dance, and then my friend wanted to leave. As I was walking out of the bar he called after me, and thanked me for taking a chance with him.

That night we danced one dance, and we have been together every day since then.

My baby boy came 3 weeks early.

I never thought I would even have a baby but I wanted to be a mother so bad. That was the moment he was born and took his first breath.

My life has been forever changed in the best way. He's 6.5 months now and absolutely my best friend!

A story by Miles A at Las Vegas, NV, USA on the 29th of October, 2017, at 6:13pm

I am truly in love with my best friend!

Me and my now girlfriend met in the United States Air Force in 2006. When we first met we were immediately drawn to each other though we were complete opposites. She was A country girl from Wisconsin, I was a city boy from California. She wanted a family and I was completely content being a single bachelor. We were inseparable but it was strictly a best friend realationship.

Eventually, I ended up deploying to Afghanistan and she went to Quatar, that's really where we were forced to go our separate directions. Over the next few years she ended up getting married and having a beautiful daughter and I lived out my bachelor dreams and traveled the world. After her separation, she ended up moving to Las Vegas and I, in typical bachelor fashion, brought my friends to Sin City to celebrate my 32nd birthday.

Knowing that my once best friend was in Las Vegas I invited her to meet up and the rest as they say "is history". I never believed at love at first sight until that day, October 29th 2017. The connection was undeniable and we immediately knew what ever this was, it was incredibly special.

Fast forward 5 months, we separated... Things just happened too fast and neither of us knew who we were any longer. The separation was hard and long but looking back now, worth it. Now we were able and willing to give each other 100%.

When we reconnected I brought this amazing gift and let's just say it was very well received; I didn't know someone could cry so much! We are now stronger than ever and our #underourluckystars art will always be our most prized possession.
