My star map is of the morning my baby girl was born, the moment I became a mom. This will forever be so special to me. ❤️

A story by Ronald M at Ottawa, IL 61350, USA on the 16th of January, 2011, at 10:56pm

That night was amazing, it was myself and this incredible girl I met of all places at work. We worked at the same Wal-Mart I was 19 and she was 18, at the time I was a mechanic working in the shop and she was a cashier. We started off with a few slow dates I had taken her to lunch a few times to a little Mexican resteraunt and finally asked her to dinner at the towns best place to eat.

It was cold and snowing, the town always had ice sculpture competitions so the streets were lined with a bunch of really cool things, especially this dragon that was in front of the restaurant we were going to. The entire town had this glow that you could only witness in a postcard around the holidays.

We had a great conversation filled with laughs and over all being goofy, she had ordered the loaded nachos and another dish I can never remember, I had a half rack of ribs with fries that we had split, the entire night went so well we had lost all track of time, but in all honesty it was myself that had gotten lost...in her smile her laugh this genuine sparkle that was always in her eye when she looked at me (which by the way are these magnificent blue not the typical they had a gray to them with a dark black ring that enclosed the color and simply made them pop).

We ate and finally when we realised what time it was and we were (besides staff) the only people left in the place. We began the short walk through town, arms laced together kind of slowly stumbling around laughing and having a great time, we finally came up to our cars, I had an old hot rod 59 Edsel and she had an old Dodge farm truck. She started it up and turned every thing on to start de-frosting the windshield, while she was doing that I could feel the proverbial butterflies filling my stomach and I couldn't help but drag her in for a gigantic hug that lifted her slightly off of her feet, when she came back down we looked at each other for a moment before I finally leaned in and had the best kiss I've ever had from the most incredible woman I've ever met.

7.5 years later, a daughter and a marriage proposal....we split....it wasn't her fault there was no cheating or anything like that, it was me and I made the most foolish mistake of my life by leaving out of fear we weren't going to make it, a mistake that I can only hope she sees that I tried my hardest to rectify and still try to now, I got this for her so she can see I will never forget that night or how even now when I get to see you how much I truly do love you and cannot wait for the day we are home together.

Breanna if this reaches you know you and Cali are truly my world and I hope one day we can re-kindle the love we had before all of this happened to us, I'm proud of you Brie and everything you do for Cali and when you can for me.. Remember this Mi Brie...we got this.

I love you
Ron

A story by Elrika S at 1140 Cornelius St, Weltevredenpark, Roodepoort, 1709, South Africa on the 15th of July, 2006, at 4:00pm

Our wedding happened on this day at NG Kerk Weltevreden.

As my brother drove the car to the church, excitement is making me: Elrika, giddy with the knowledge that today is the start of forever and beyond. It is the day where you make the promise before God; your soulmate; family; and friends, that you will love and cherish each other.

My Dad helped me out of the car; kissed me on the forehead; told me he loved me; that I look beautiful; and will always be his princess - that was the best gift. And yeah, with all the excitement I slipped when we started walking down the aisle! Izak saw it and had started to rush up a few pews, but dad was quick to make sure I didn’t tumble and supported me for the last time.

Marrying your soulmate; best friend; lover; and support system, is the most wonderful thing you can ever do. The piece we picked for the priest was 1 Corinthians 13 to base our wedding on, as it is about LOVE and with that we have kept that alive in our marriage as well. Therefore, we included that as part of our constellation on the canvas. (Incl. a wedding photo.) Now on to how we met.

It was in June of 2002 at a social. I went to a dance school to learn Latin-American and Ballroom dancing more professionally. Izak, well he wanted to learn to dance for a wedding, as weddings do not only have Rave music. I was sitting with my friends, chatting away and, yeah, waiting for men to ask us to dance. Izak walked into the hall and caught my eye, and boy, did he leave me breathless and in awe.
He caught us ogling him whilst me and my friends were showing our moves on the dance floor. Well, needless to say because our group was lively, he decided to join us. I still don’t know how he got me to open up that night and shed my shyness. We danced, talked and even though I needed to go home, I was adamant to stay and talk with him. He had captivated me. To make sure that he was safe and not a danger to me, I went to the school’s administrator about him to make sure he could accompany me home. With only good things to say about him, I felt safe for him to take me home as I had a curfew while living with my parents. That night we were talking about everything even swapped out ghost stories and suddenly, at 02h00 in the morning, there was a light signal for him to go home. We both got very quiet and the next moment, we burst out laughing.
Then, yeah, I had to explain that it was my dad's way of telling me it was time for bed and my visitor should go home. (So to explain our home, it is build like in a u-shape and the living room has a big mirror on one wall, the opposite wall has a big window to the outside. I was sitting on the couch under the mirror and Izak was by the window. So on the other end of the u was an outside light for the courtyard. So my dad had switched the outside light on and off while we were in the midst of a ghost story.)

This was the start of an amazing friendship; dating; engagement; then our wedding and I believe there are many more years to come.

It was a surprise ... A true surprise.

I had this friend, we worked together for five months then, and our friendship had become quite strong, daily long conversations. She quickly became a confidant and I could swear we had known each other in some sort of past life. She got me in ways I didn't know it was possible and I was amazed with how she made me feel. We talked for hours, about work and about every single aspect of our lives. I gotta admit, she became an addiction and she brought out the best in me, I wanted to protect her from all sorts of harm's way and I needed to make her smile, that would be the only way my day made any sense. With all this, however, I never thought of anything else except of how great our friendship was.

But, our workplace arranged for a Christmas dinner and we went together, she was even my ride! We had a lot of fun and I got pretty drunk, she took care of me. But it came to a point where I held her hand in mine and it just made perfect sense, like it was the most natural thing in the world. Then we had to leave, she drove and stopped when I needed fresh air. She held my hair and made me look up when I said I was becoming queasy, and my God, she looked perfect when our eyes crossed. I couldn't even stare at her. We from her eyes and her touch, We stayed outside, talked for hours, and then we hugged, one of those hugs that can repair broken hearts. And, with the stars as our witnesses, we kissed... and it was the most magical thing ever and we haven't stopped kissing, hugging and loving ever since.

She makes me the happiest woman on the face of the Earth.

This night was the night I had my first date with my now husband.

I was 16 and he was 17... We've been together for almost 9 years now. We were, and still are, each other's first loves; first kiss; and firsts in everything else that our wonderful life together has given us so far.

After bringing me home (30 mins before curfew, like the true gentleman he always has been) I called him after everyone in my house had gone to bed. We spoke for 4 hours that night, about our hopes and dreams, where we saw ourselves in the future...and agreed that night, that we would be married one day. We've been married now for a year and a half and have a beautiful baby boy who is nearly 8 months old. We are still "high-school sweethearts", though our love for one another continues to grow stronger with each passing day.

I wanted to make this poster as a reminder to always believe in "fairy tales" and true love...because even the most innocent and cliche of love stories truly can turn into 'happily ever afters'! I presented this piece of artwork to my husband the day it arrived in the mail - my plan was to hold off until our 9 year anniversary on 7/7/2019 - but the excitement made me give it to him immediately. He cried and was so moved, not only by the thoughtfulness of the gift, but it's beauty! We've both been star gazers since childhood and having a map of the stars that we were both looking at during that 4 hour phone conversation after our first date, the stars we promised each other our lives under, is such a special thing for both of us!

Thank you for providing such a lovely product! I plan to make one of our wedding night, as well as the night (though he was technically born at 9:42 am) of our Son's birth, to hang one each side of this one, over the head of our bed!

I was on vacation for the second time in Barbados...

One of the places that I loved most on my first vacation there was the Friday fish fry at Oistens, a lively outdoor venue complete with fish vendors, live music and cocktails. So it was literally the only place I wanted to make sure to visit during my second trip. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it would be the backdrop for a meeting that would change my life.

After filling up on fish and rum punch, I was casually introduced to a tall man with kind eyes and the cutest smile I had ever seen. He was a family friend of my travel mate. When he quietly bought me a beer and laid it on the table next to me, I felt something, without him even touching me--energy, warmth, electricity--or maybe a combination of all of three.

A night of dancing, more rum punch and one of the longest laughing fits I had ever had with someone in my life, ensued. We came to find that what we both felt that night was what we can only describe as a cosmic connection. We were truly meant to meet there, that night, in that moment, under those Barbados stars. A year later, we are embarking on planning our wedding.

We still dance often; can make each other erupt in laughter; and regularly recount the moment of our meeting (with each of us insisting that we retell the story more accurately than the other).

I had a horrible and abusive relationship with my ex-boyfriend. I couldn’t figure what love after that. I was hopeless, thinking that I would never be good enough and I thought I was the reason for everything going wrong. That abusive relationship went on for 3 years.

On July 25th, 2018, though, I met my true soul mate. With him, I discovered what real love is. He made me see the rainbows through the rainy days and showed me how worthy I am. Don't lose hope <3

On April 18th 2002 at 3:56pm my little brother, Jeb was born. He loves space and stars. He loves looking at the stars and finding constellations.

For his birthday this year I wanted to get him something very meaningful and special. I wanted to get this for him so that he could see what constellations were in the sky the day he was born.
He loved the gift and, of course, I cried when he opened it. He loved it and had tears in his eyes too.
I didn’t get to give it to him on his actual birthday because I was at school but as soon as I got home after a long drive, he came out and opened it.

On the 18th of may I met the love of my life...

A couple of years ago I went to party with some friends and one of them introduced him to us. At first I didn't pay much attention to him, but after a while we started dancing and talking and something just clicked.

Then we went to sit on the grass, and talked for a while. Eventually we laid back and looked at the stars. After a while he leaned closer to kiss me and at the exact moment of our first kiss, rain started to fall on us. That was a night that we never forgot.

Every year since then, on the 18th of may, we go out to the same party; sit at the same spot; and look upon the stars.
